Levelling the playing field: How QTAC supports fair access to Higher Education

Placing students at the forefront, QTAC recognises the challenges and responsibilities Year 12 students often face during their studies. QTAC aims to continue to support students who may face personal or financial hardship, health challenges, or disruptions to their academic environment during their studies.

QTAC’s Educational Access Scheme (EAS) is designed to support students who have faced challenges that have negatively impacted their most recent studies.

In 2025, QTAC received more than 10,000 Year 12 EAS Applications, an increase of 6% from 2024. Of these applicants, 90% received an offer to higher education for 2025 study.

Applicants accessing the EAS may receive adjustments to their selection rank, increasing their likelihood of an offer to their preferred course. The EAS may also facilitate financial assistance and other supports at the institutional level.

EAS is there to support applicants by levelling the playing field and offering a better chance of gaining a place at university.

More details about the EAS scheme, including helpful FAQs, can be found on the QTAC website, or you can contact QTAC on 1300 467 822, Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 8:45am–4:30pm and Wed 9am–4:30pm.
