QTAC has established a standard of operational excellence for providing equitable and accurate assessments for tertiary admission, which since 1975, has earned us a reputation for delivering exceptional service to our applicants and institutional stakeholders. Like the partners, institutions and community groups we work with, we believe that success comes from empowering individuals to make informed decisions that lead to lifelong learning and personal growth.

As a forward-thinking organisation, QTAC always seeks and engages in additional commercial opportunities Australia-wide, to ensure that individuals can make transformative decisions that shape their future. Over the last few years these opportunities have included the facilitation of the Rural and Regional Scholarship Program and the delivery of the highly successful Defence Industry Internship Program.

QTAC’s leadership team are committed to driving innovation, creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace culture, and delivering outstanding results for our partners.

QTAC is a not-for-profit company focused on connecting people with opportunities. We are driven by our charitable purpose of enabling greater participation in education by minimising the barriers to applying for tertiary study.

Thanks to the experience and vision of our team, we’ve been introducing innovative programs, technology and solutions and expanding the breadth of our services. This diversification is helping drive more revenue towards our purpose of making opportunities more accessible.

With a governing Board comprising representatives from 7 Queensland Universities, the Board is responsible for determining QTAC’s strategies for operations, future development and oversees risks and regulatory activities which are actioned through the business by our exceptional leadership team.

Chris Veraa
Chris, QTAC’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, appointed in 2024, brings extensive leadership experience from tertiary education and the media industry, supported by qualifications such as an Executive MBA and a Bachelor of Communication, showcasing his expertise and dedication to guiding QTAC towards innovation and impact.
 
Embodying QTAC’s values, Chris Veraa possesses extensive experience and seniority in tertiary education, government and private sectors, having led teams across various domains including; student admissions, customer service, student services, schools outreach, equity programs, and media relations and communications. 
 
Chris is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds an Executive MBA from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor of Communication from Griffith University. Additionally, he serves as a non-executive director of Edmund Rice Education Australia Flexible Schools.
 
Prior to joining QTAC, Chris served as Associate Vice-President (South East Queensland) and Director, Strategic Engagement at CQUniversity. In these capacities, he oversaw university operations in South East Queensland and directed the national delivery of corporate communications, philanthropy, and social innovation initiatives.
 
With a blend of passion and expertise, Chris is determined to guide QTAC towards a future characterised by innovation and meaningful impact.
Lisa Silver 

Lisa is currently on leave and will return to QTAC in November 2024. QTAC’s acting Cheif Operating Officer is Robyn Nelson.

Lisa joined QTAC’s executive in 2021, bringing over 12 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across a diverse range of industries and organisations in private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
 

Lisa Silver, the Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary, commenced at Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre, September 2021.

Prior to QTAC, Lisa held the position of General Manager of Operations at a legal firm in the heart of Brisbane, Queensland, specialising in commercial litigation, insolvency, and debt recovery.

In her extensive experience in key positions prior to her time at QTAC, Lisa held portfolios in finance, resourcing and business operations within health, accounting and banking industries of national and global scale. Bringing over 12 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across a diverse range of industries and organisations in private, public and not-for-profit sectors, Lisa’s appointment at QTAC boasts a strong match for commercial capability, operational robustness, and financial resilience expertise in practice.
Here at QTAC, Lisa’s portfolios include the Defence industry internship programs (Diip), account management, corporate affairs, human resource and executive initiatives as well as general operations.

Robyn Nelson

Acting Chief Operating Officer Robyn Nelson joined QTAC in 2023 as an accomplished professional with extensive experience in finance, human resources, and facilities management. While Lisa Silver is on parental leave, Robyn steps in and leads with operational excellence to fulfill the role of QTAC’s Acting Chief Operational Officer within the QTAC Corporate Services Team.

Christopher Jack

 

Chris is a highly skilled and insightful leader with a demonstrated talent for understanding how all aspects of an organisation fit together to influence the customer experience.

Christopher Jack, Chief Experience Officer, commenced at QTAC in 2013. Previously a contact centre manager for the Queensland Government, Chris was responsible for staffing, training, recognition and program development for over 300 staff. Chris has extensive experience in steering operational change that equates tactful outcomes to directly impact revenue-driving operations. Chris brings to QTAC management techniques that influence and drive customer experience outcomes through leadership motivation, coaching and day-to-day service operations, national cohesion, and leadership to deliver quality customer service experience for all of QTAC.


With prior experience in leadership roles at large organisations including RACQ in Brisbane, Queensland, Chris has a demonstrated talent for understanding how all aspects of an organisation fit together to influence a positive customer experience.


Graduating from Federation University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Applied Management, Chris is continuing his passion for life-long learning and is currently completing his Masters of Professional Accounting with Torrens University.


Underpinning his passion for people, Chris leads four Customer Experience management teams to operate effectively and efficiently through QTAC’s values with a focus on Excellence in Service, Innovation in Engagement (through purpose, people and platforms), Greater Connectivity and Customer Relevance in strategy.

Paul Reidy

 

With more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Paul has assessed, developed and implemented a variety of IT systems and programs across the government, education, logistics, entertainment, insurance and consulting industries.

Since joining QTAC in 2019, Paul strives to find technology solutions to achieve the strategic goals of an organisation through application design and development.
The Information Technology team at QTAC provides infrastructure, system support, product development and project delivery services.
