QTAC

About

The Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) is a trusted, independent authority at the centre of tertiary admissions in Queensland. For five decades, we have played a pivotal role in helping Queenslanders from all walks of life to access tertiary education.

Each year, QTAC facilitates tertiary entry for more than 60,000 applicants, on behalf of 17 universities and tertiary education providers across Queensland and northern New South Wales. QTAC provides accessible, impartial information about course options and entry requirements; delivers fair, accurate and transparent assessment services that institutions and applicants can rely on; and calculates and distributes the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) to more than 25,000 Queensland Year 12 students annually.

We work in close partnership with universities, government and the education sector to ensure admissions processes are rigorous, consistent and responsive to a changing learning landscape. Our expertise lies in translating complex pathways and credentials into clear, equitable outcomes that support opportunity and mobility. Technology and data are key enablers of our business, supporting efficient, streamlined and customer-focused services that meet the changing needs of customers and institutions.

Driven by integrity, service excellence and a deep understanding of education systems, QTAC exists to remove barriers and help learners take their next step with clarity and confidence.
