As a graduate from this double degree, you will be uniquely skilled in two separate but complementary areas. The complexity of the human body, modern lifestyle diseases and emerging medical treatments call for graduates with mathematical and data analytics skills. Biomedical research and the development of new biomedical products contribute to improving health outcomes worldwide. You will gain the knowledge and skills to work as part of multidisciplinary teams in biomedical research, development and commercialisation. Simultaneously, the Bachelor of Mathematics component of the double degree provides training in mathematics to prepare you for graduate careers in industry or research. The course aims to provide you with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in mathematics and the ability to apply mathematics, statistics, computational methods and operations research to real world problems. Enrolling in this course will allow you to enhance your mathematical capabilities and develop capabilities in problem-solving and analysis, and in communicating mathematical concepts and information to others. You will complete core biomedical science and mathematics units before selecting a major.
