This course prepares you as an early childhood educator to teach young children in prior-to-school settings (e.g., kindergarten) and the lower years of primary school (Prep-Year 3). You will demonstrate achievement of the Australian Professional Standards for Beginning Teachers as required by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). The program includes substantial professional experience across the early childhood and primary schooling sectors embedded and connected to on-campus learning. You must complete 95 days of approved professional work, of which the majority must be in an Australian primary school setting. 10 days must be with children birth-2 years, 40 days must be in a kindergarten.

Flagship units in this course cover topics such as Indigenous education, inclusive and trauma-aware education, and digital pedagogies for future-focussed teaching.
