This course allows Indigenous people in remote, isolated and regional Queensland communities to undertake a Bachelor of Education (Primary). The course examines learners and learning theories, curriculum studies and approaches to teaching and assessment. Professional experience involves practical work in schools and a variety of educational settings. Teacher coordinators at RATEP centres support students who study using web and print-based materials and interactive communication technologies. Students are expected to attend on-campus and professional experience activities throughout the course. This course is a community-based teacher education program. This course is nationally accredited through the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) in association with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
