Course outline

Students learn to assess, manage, and solve environmental problems at local, national, and global scales. They explore major issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, resource use and sustainable development, while understanding how science, policy, business, and community perspectives connect. They study subjects including biology, geography, environmental law, economics, and sustainability. Throughout the program, they learn from researchers and industry experts working in environmental management and conservation.

This degree is hands on. Students take part in field trips across different environments and develop practical skills in environmental assessment, data collection, GIS mapping and stakeholder engagement. In third year, they complete an extended field tour and an industry placement, gaining valuable real world experience and professional networks. In their final year, they complete either an individual research project or a team based case study with an industry partner. This capstone experience builds their expertise and helps them develop a professional portfolio. Graduates pursue careers in conservation, consulting, policy, natural resource management, and sustainability planning.
