The Bachelor of Midwifery prepares students for registration as an entry-level midwife and work in maternity settings such as hospitals, birth centres, and other community agencies. Students will acquire the skills and knowledge to manage normal pregnancy and childbirth and provide effective postnatal maternal and newborn care in any maternity setting. They will learn how to provide safe and reliable care that meets the individual psychological, emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs of women and their families. Students will undertake a variety of clinical units throughout the course in maternity hospitals and community facilities. Graduates can apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C)
To enrol in this program, students must have attended and satisfactorily completed at least 6 years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English. At least two years of this education must have been between grades 7 and 12. This education must have been completed in one of the following countries; Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America.
