Bachelor of Music graduates are highly skilled, musically adaptable and equipped to enter professional life as a creative and flexible 21st century musician. Your educational experience will allow you to focus on the principal musical specialisation of your choice and can include exposure to diverse musical styles and professional engagement practices (artistry, education, production and leadership). You’ll also engage in collaborative and ensemble work appropriate to your field of study, music theory, critical listening, contemporary music-making practices, and develop awareness of musical contexts. You can choose from 4 majors and will have opportunities to gain credit for project studies and music industry engagement and internships, enabling you to gain experience and prepare for a smooth transition into professional life. A wide range of elective courses are available to deepen and broaden your musical experience. After successfully completing your undergraduate studies, you’ll be eligible to apply for a graduate entry teacher preparation program or transition to a fourth undergraduate or Honours year.
