This double degree program prepares you as a graduate to meet current requirements for a nursing career and also provides the skills to deal with situations where a knowledge of human behaviour would be an advantage, for example, in a counselling environment. On completion of this program, you have the option to apply for a fourth year program in psychology, in order to gain provisional registration as a psychologist.
The clinical practice nursing units requires you to undertake block practicums of two or more weeks duration. Block practicums may be scheduled during semester breaks. You will undertake clinical placements in a range of health facilities and this may include the requirement to undertake non-standard shifts.
