Pharmacology and toxicology professionals require an understanding of the properties of chemicals and how they interact with biological systems. You’ll learn about drugs and poisons, how they act on the body, and how to develop new medicines. You’ll learn through hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities such as our immersive virtual learning environment, and formulation, pharmacology and analytical laboratories. With a strong industry focus, this program offers a clear pathway to careers in pharmacology, toxicology, drug research, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and other health industries. Alongside core subjects, specialise in your area of interest by selecting from a diverse range of electives giving you the flexibility to create your own program of study to suit your career goals. Griffith offers a number of admission pathways to your preferred degree. If you don’t meet the minimum ATAR/selection rank for this degree, you may automatically be considered for a place in the Diploma of Health Science/Bachelor of Pharmacology and Toxicology. This means you may receive an offer into the Bachelor of Pharmacology and Toxicology which is conditional on successful completion of the Diploma of Health Science at Griffith University. Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Health Science you will be transferred into the second year of the Bachelor of Pharmacology and Toxicology program.
