4 years Full time
This degree pairs the Bachelor of Psychological Science with the Master of Rehabilitation Counselling, allowing you to complete an undergraduate and postgraduate qualification in just four years. In this integrated vertical degree, you will gain a thorough grounding in the application of clinical, development, biological, cognitive, social and organisational psychology. You will then build on this broad knowledge base with studies in the specialist area of rehabilitation counselling. To acquire the advanced knowledge and skills to work as a rehabilitation counsellor, you will learn about vocational evaluation, job placement, injury management, disability studies, applied counselling and research methods. You will put this all into practice through a supervised practicum placement in a rehabilitation counselling setting. Your masters degree will prepare you to work as an accredited rehabilitation counsellor in government, insurance, disability employment services, the National Injury Insurance Scheme (NIIS), the National Disability Insurance scheme (NDIS), and other private and not-for-profit services.
