The Bachelor of Social Work will allow students to become a professionally qualified social worker, eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Students will be supported by an experienced teaching team and be guided by practising social workers as they complete extensive field placements. Over the course of four years, students will develop an understanding of the practice methods, skills, knowledge and values of the social work profession. Students will acquire values, knowledge and skills relevant to diverse social environments where they will be able to advocate for and support people impacted by social and structural inequalities. Students will have the opportunity to complete two field education placements where they will begin to apply their developing knowledge and skills and see in-practice examples of theory.
