This degree will equip you with the conceptual and practical knowledge to begin a career in the visual arts. Working with accomplished artists, art historians and industry leaders, you’ll learn how to navigate and succeed in the visual arts sector. In the first year, you will undertake foundation courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, jewellery and small objects and indigenous art and protocols. In your second year, you will specialise with a major in either painting, sculpture or photography.. Engage with industry and build employment options by working with guest artists and curators, undertaking work placements, participating in exhibitions, masterclasses and study tours. Work on projects for real clients through our QCADLive work-integrated program, LiveArt, producing commercial murals and public art installations.
