Course outline

The Master of Social Work (Qualifying) is a two-year intensive professional qualifying postgraduate program provided on campus in Ipswich. The degree delivers a graduate-level social work qualification that allows direct entry into the profession.. A defining feature of the UniSQ MSW(Q) is the choice of two pathways in the second year of the program; a Professional Pathway, or Research Pathway. Both pathways enable graduates to be eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. First year is core to all students but in the second year, they can choose to continue a Professional Pathway with bespoke elective choices (four 0.5 units of credit each) OR choose a Research Pathway with two dissertation linked courses.
