Applying with International Year 12 qualifications
QTAC assesses a range of international qualifications to help students apply for tertiary study in Queensland. Each qualification has specific requirements for assessment. Below is a guide to some of the more common international qualifications and the documents you may need to submit. Keep in mind, this isn’t a complete list—requirements can vary depending on your qualification so please reach out to QTAC if you have questions about your international qualification and what you may need to submit.
Applying to QTAC with GCE Cambridge A/AS Levels
The General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Levels) is an international secondary school qualification.
Students completing GCE A or AS Levels typically receive ‘provisional’ results initially, before the final official results are issued. QTAC accepts provisional results for current year studies only. Provisional results are not accepted for studies completed in previous years.
If you provide provisional results, they must be recent and clearly show your current academic standing.
Once your final official results have been released, QTAC can no longer accept provisional results. If you have your final results, make sure to provide those instead.
Please check the examples below to ensure you are supplying the correct documents.

A/AS Levels can produce a tertiary admissions selection rank and can also meet some universities’ subject requirements. Contact QTAC to learn more.

O Levels are qualifications commonly known as GCSE Ordinary Levels and are equivalent to Year 10 in the Australian education system. O Levels can meet subject requirements with some universities but cannot be issued as a tertiary admissions selection rank. Contact QTAC to learn more.
Applying to QTAC with USA Senior Schooling Qualifications
To assess USA Secondary Qualifications, QTAC requires evidence of high school completion (such as a High School Diploma or Completion Certificate). However, these qualifications can only be assessed if accompanied by the applicant’s AP, SAT, or ACT scores, so you will be required to provide these as well.
