Understand the human mind to support the mental health and wellbeing of others. Respond to the demand for caring professionals who can support individuals, families and communities. Gain a thorough grounding in clinical, developmental, biological, cognitive, and social and organisational psychology as you work towards a career as a psychologist, as well as other psychology-related fields in the health sector and beyond.
Build interpersonal skills and apply counselling principles to help people with personal, health, vocational and social difficulties. Apply psychological theories to topics such as thinking and perceiving, motivation, stress, health and group behaviour; evaluate and understand tests that measure intellectual, behavioural and emotional states; and develop coaching and group facilitation skills. Learn from practising experts and benefit from interprofessional learning opportunities, where you collaborate with other health professionals to provide patient-centred care. Eligible students will progress to a fourth year of study, where they’ll begin formal research training and be introduced to professional psychological practice.
