Students will explore the commercial world behind agriculture, studying integrated knowledge from agribusiness including marketing, finance, sustainable supply chains, and management, in an agricultural context. They will learn how value added food and fibre products move from farm to consumer and how agribusiness drives innovation across domestic and global value chains. Their studies will deepen their understanding of critical agricultural inputs, including sustainable crop and soil inputs, machinery, labour, and financial and advisory services.
Students will access world class agribusiness expertise and agriculture facilities at UQ’s Gatton campus, with opportunities to select a range of courses including business courses offered at St Lucia. They will build practical capability through case studies, business simulations, guest lectures, industry and site visits, and research projects. In their final year, they will apply their learning in a major group project with an agribusiness organisation, tackling contemporary industry challenges such as carbon neutral production or sustainable marketing. Graduates will emerge with strong commercial insight, analytical skills, and industry networks, ready to contribute to innovative, sustainable agribusinesses locally and globally.
