The diploma is the essential minimum requirement to register as an enrolled nurse. This course will provide students with the advanced skills to perform clinical assessments, contribute to nursing care of people with complex needs, administer and monitor medications and IV therapy, research and apply evidence to practice. Successful completion of this course will qualify graduates to seek registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. In the bachelor, students will develop the necessary knowledge and skills, clinical reasoning, clinical imagination, professional identity and commitment to the professional code and values of the profession that are necessary to function as an effective and ethical nurse. Graduates will learn to practice following the International Council of Nurses (ICN) ethical principles which include; beneficence, nonmaleficence and accountability.
