Our Bachelor of Medical Science/Doctor of Medicine Direct Entry is a vertical dual degree which enable students to gain a Bachelor and a Doctor ‘s degree in 6 years when you complete 2 years pre-medicine study and the 4-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
The program includes a tailored 2-year pre-medicine component followed by the 4-year postgraduate MD program. The pre-medicine component is intentionally designed to align with the MD Graduate Attributes and the six design themes underpinning the MD curriculum.
The pre-medicine curriculum integrates traditional science and biomedical science as well as courses in public health, humanities, and computer science/information technology. The pre-medicine component is delivered over four semesters, during which students complete eight 2-unit courses per year – totalling 16 courses each year and 32 units over the two years.
Year 1 comprises eight core courses providing essential foundational knowledge.
Year 2 includes five core courses complemented by no more than 2 units of Level 1 program electives and 4 to 6 units of Level 2 program electives.
Students then transition to the 4-Year MD curriculum.
