The Bachelor of Nutrition Science/Master of Nutrition and Dietetics prepares you for careers supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities through food, nutrition and evidence‑based practice. As a nutrition science student, you will build a strong foundation in chemistry, anatomy, food science, public health and research methods, and learn how nutrition influences dietary behaviours, food systems and health outcomes across populations.
Across your undergraduate studies, you will progress from core scientific knowledge to applied nutritional science. You will develop capabilities in biochemistry, physiology, nutrition in chronic disease, epidemiology and evidence‑based practice, while strengthening your practical skills through tutorials, workshops and hands‑on learning. You will then apply and contextualise your knowledge in real‑world settings, undertaking projects with community organisations, health services and schools, and can choose electives that align with your interests.
Progressing into the Masters component, you will advance your skills in clinical nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, food service management and community and public health nutrition. The program prepares you for professional practice as a dietitian, with strong capabilities in assessment, planning, communication and evidence‑based decision‑making.
