This course prepares students to be job ready as human services practitioners who support individuals, families and communities across health, justice and community services. What makes it unique is the strong regional focus, and two supervised placements that total 400 hours. Core subjects provide grounding in human rights and social policy, Indigenous frameworks for practice, interpersonal communication, organisational practice, community work and evidence informed practice. Electives expand capability in areas such as mental health and addiction, disability and ageing, digital capability and leadership. Second- and third-year students extend knowledge through applied subjects, skills workshops and the introductory placement that consolidates assessment, planning and intervention.
