This broad-based program encompasses all aspects of existing veterinary practice but with a special focus on tropical and rural practice including tropical animal production. Veterinary science students acquire the knowledge and skills to support animal health and welfare, communicate solutions to complex problems, diagnose disease, and implement and monitor treatment and management plans in a range of animals, including companion animals, farm animals, aquatic species, and native fauna. Students develop a thorough knowledge of animal production systems, particularly tropical animal husbandry and aquaculture.
