Course outline

Economics is the study of human behaviour related to the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services, by means of markets, businesses or other institutions. In this course students study microeconomics, macroeconomics, benefit-cost analysis, and choose from a wide array of electives, learning a range of statistical, mathematical and analytical tools that can be used to explain why individuals, organisations and governments make the decisions that they do. The conceptual and data analytical toolkits gained will open vast career opportunities in both the public and private sectors – economics is helpful in just about any industry.
