As global datasets grow and environmental issues become increasingly data driven, you’ll be equipped with the tools to interpret information, make evidence-based decisions and contribute to meaningful change. Your studies in environmental science begin with core scientific courses and progress into areas such as biodiversity, climate change, water resources, environmental modelling, data analytics and land management. Fieldwork and practical learning are embedded throughout your degree, reducing reliance on theory-only study and helping you make a real impact through sustainability and environmental problem-solving. In your data science studies, you’ll develop technical and analytical capabilities in programming, machine learning, statistics, data wrangling and predictive modelling. You’ll work with real datasets, build solutions to real industry challenges and learn how data can inform decisions that protect environments and support sustainable policy. In your final year you’ll complete a capstone project, with the option to engage in research, undertake extended fieldwork in your major or complete an industry placement. Supported by strong industry and research connections, you’ll graduate with career-ready skills, professional networks and accreditation and training aligned with industry expectations, easing the transition into roles in conservation, policy and research.
