Study general science and non-science courses before specialising in the second and third years. UQ has one of the broadest selections of science disciplines in Australia and over 2200 science teaching and research spaces. Learn how to work confidently in a range of labs, including wet, dry and clinical labs, PC2 and PC3 labs, and animal diagnostic, operating and skills-training labs. Students can focus their program towards areas of interest or specific career goals. Depending on the specialisation students can enhance their experience and practical skills with fieldwork, research or internships, or international study options. Students may combine their scientific expertise with a language, communication or design studies to expand their skill set or follow their interests beyond science. They can add an extra year of study (Honours) to prepare for a research career or consider studying one of the 13 dual degree options to broaden their future career options.
