As a graduate of QUT’s Bachelor of Information Technology and Bachelor of Science double degree, you’ll possess a unique blend of theoretical and technical knowledge across both IT and scientific disciplines. You’ll understand foundational IT principles and technologies, alongside scientific research and problem-solving. You’ll identify challenges and design innovative solutions using analytical, creative and strategic thinking. You’ll build secure IT systems and engage in scientific research to address current and future challenges.
You’ll connect and apply knowledge across fields, using modelling and abstraction to present complex systems clearly. You’ll integrate business and scientific acumen, understanding how IT enables outcomes and how science drives innovation. With resilience and a growth mindset, you’ll adapt to evolving technologies and discoveries. Strong communication skills will help you convey complex ideas across disciplines.
You’ll engage with First Nations communities, developing culturally sound solutions and appreciating Indigenous Australian world-views. Ethically and socially responsible, you’ll understand cybersecurity, privacy and sustainable practices in IT and science. Through internships, capstone projects and Work Integrated Learning (WIL), you’ll gain hands-on experience and graduate ready to contribute meaningfully to both fields.
