Course outline

In the higher education diploma year, students develop fundamental academic skills and cement their knowledge in foundation subjects, core concepts and skills required for a career in health. Students learn the methods for researching, diagnosing and treating disease, emphasising applications to biomedical research, medicine and healthcare services. The knowledge and skills developed during this degree can be applied to medicine, biomedical research and other healthcare professions such as pharmacy, speech pathology, and rehabilitation counselling. On successful completion of the diploma, students progress into the Griffith University Bachelor of Biomedical Science with credit. Note

Students can undertake a third-year research project in one of the University’s research centres or affiliated medical research institutions such as the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.
